Smitten State Weddings

As a veteran photographer in the wedding industry, I’ve encountered my fair share of wedding officiants. The day I met Emily in 2021, I instantly knew she would be one of my favorites to work with. She’s bright, caring, and skilled in everything she does! Fast forward to 2026: I transformed her outdated branding into a fresh, new look for Smitten State Weddings. The brand was inspired by vintage postcards and kitschy old weddings, creating something that felt like home to Emily.

Logo

I really love the logo. I wanted to include a Michigan motif, without it feeling overdone or obvious. I tried for WEEKS to figure out a way to do the Michigan mitten hands (where people hold up their hands as a map to show where they live in Michigan). I’m pretty happy with how it came out. It’s subtle, but once you see it, you’re tickled.

Custom Illustrations

I created a set of custom illustrations that are sprinkled throughout the website. These were definitely the most fun part of the project!
